(2012-05-09 12:04:41 董珍鑾)1.因應高中職免學費政策，教育部宣布，高職20個產業特殊需求類科，除了免學費外，101學年度、也就是今年8月1號新學期開始新增免繳雜費，預估每年有1萬3000多位學生受益，每位學生最多一學期可以省3千多元的雜費支出。
The Ministry of Education announces that taking the twenty courses in vocational schools for the industries’ special needs will not be charged, and the tuition and incidental fees will be halted from this August 1st to respond to tuition-free policy for the students of senior high schools and vocational schools. Around thirteen thousand students are expected to be benefited and each of them can save about three thousand dollars of schooling fees in every semester.

A traffic cone is used to warn the approaching cars when a traffic accident happens or a car break down. The students of the department of industrial design, Tatung University 王守裕 and 黃紹恆 design a floating cone being nominated for 2012 YODEX combine the ideas of pressure bottle and balloon making the cone floating in the air. With the lighting function of LED, it can giving warning to the coming cars in a short time regardless of the time and weather concerns.
3. 僑委會昨天(8)舉行「101年度受理捐贈僑生獎助學金頒獎典禮」，僑委會委員長吳英毅出席頒獎典禮表示，今年的僑生獎助學金主要是結合僑胞和成功的僑生企業家捐助而來，他希望獲得獎助學金的僑生，將來有了一番作為之後，也能夠為學弟妹們付出。
The Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission held an awarding ceremony yesterday to deliver the scholarship to the praised overseas Chinese. Minister of the OCAC 吳英毅 said during the ceremony that the scholarship for this year comes from the donation of overseas Chinese and those who succeed in their enterprises. The prizewinners are expected to devote themselves to the contributions for younger schoolfellows when they hit the achievement of their ambition in the future.
4. 根據一項「二岸三地十大癌症」統計資料顯示，大腸癌、肝癌以及肺癌，是三地共通癌症的前三名。國泰健康管理內湖中心院長李宗諭表示，菸、酒、檳榔，是兩岸華人罹癌的頭號致癌物，呼籲民眾要養成良好的飲食及生活習慣，建立正確的防癌觀念，多吃蔬果、少吃燒烤、或油炸食物，適度運動、嚴禁菸、酒、檳榔，以降低罹癌風險。
The information of statistics relating to the top ten cancers found in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong shows that colon, liver and lung cancer are the top three cancers among these three locations. The director of the health management center, Cathay General Hospital 李宗諭 expressed that cigarette, alcohol and betel nut are the top killers related to the cancers. To lower the risk of getting the cancers, 李 called upon the public to form good diet and living habit, establish correct conceptions toward cancer prevention, eat vegetable and fruit more, avoid eating grilled and fried foods, properly taking exercise and do not touch cigarette, alcohol and betel nut.
5. 雪山隧道發生火燒車事件，隧道的通行安全再度受到重視。為了避免相同事件發生在臺北市，臺北市長郝龍斌在市政會議中特別指示消防局及公共安全的相關局處，檢驗臺北市十二座隧道內的消防設備和通報系統，必要時也要進行演習演練，防範於未然。
A collision between two buses happened in Hsuehshan Tunnel caught people’s attention on the traffic security in tunnels again. To avoid further relevant accident, Taipei mayor 郝龍斌 specially designated Taipei City Fire Department and the department related to public security to check the fire-fighting equipment and reporting system in the twelve tunnels of Taipei City. Any drill could be proceeded if it’s necessary, he said.
6. 為了確保在新加坡工作印尼女傭的安全，新加坡政府打算禁止雇主讓女傭清潔高樓的外窗、或是在高樓晾衣服。今年到目前為止，已經有8名印尼女傭從高樓摔下來，送了性命。新加坡人力部同意修改雇用契約，今後將在契約裡明定禁止雇主要求女傭清潔高樓外窗、或是在高樓上晾衣服。
To ensure the safety of Indonesian housemaids working in Singapore, the government plans to forbid them to clean the outside windows or air the clothes in high buildings. So far eight of them died from falling down from the high buildings. The ministry of laborers have approved of revising the contracts of employment in which will definitely put the forbiddance.
