(2012-05-14 11:09:45董珍鑾)1. 關心偏鄉地區數位機會中心的設置運作情形，教育部次長林聰明昨天(15)前往位於嘉義縣社團國小、桃源國小和鹿滿國小的數位機會中心進行視察。林聰明次長除了肯定這3所學校的數位機會中心，對於縮減嘉義地區的數位落差產生幫助，也希望在虎尾科大協助下，能提升嘉義縣的電腦使用普及率。
Concerning the working condition of establishing digital opportunity centers in remote districts, vice minister of the Ministry of Education 林聰明 went to 嘉義 County 社團, 桃源 and 鹿滿Elementary School for inspection visit yesterday. In addition to praise the establishment of the centers, 林 hoped to enhance the popularity of computer-using which is good for narrowing the digital gap in 嘉義 area with the assistance of National Formosa University.
2. 一般腳踏車都是往前踩，建國科技大學研發可以反踏、又能往前走的腳踏車，而且反踏時還能儲能、省力，可以提升20%的爬坡能力；另外，國立臺北科技大學則以奈米金觸媒技術，研發出「一氧化碳殺手」並製成口罩，可以防止吸入一氧化碳，幫助逃生。這些都是技專校院的研發成果，部分已經和廠商簽約合作，將由廠商進行量產。

Additionally, National Taipei University of Technology develops a mask called “a killer for carbon monoxide” with the technology of nanogold catalyst which can prevent from inhaling carbon monoxide and help with surviving. These inventions are results of colleges, and a part of them have been contracted with some vendors for mass production.
3. 5月15號是全國兒童安全日，靖娟兒童安全文教基金進行「全台兒童安全總體檢」，發現五都的50座公園遊戲設施中，高達九成六的溜滑梯不合格，容易發生兒童墜落、骨折等意外，基金會呼籲家長，別讓孩子離開自己的視線，發現遊樂設施不安全時，要主動通報。
Today is National Children’s Safety Day. A safety inspection held by靖娟 Children’s Safety and Education Foundation found that ninety-six percent of slides at the fifty parks in the five capitals were unqualified which may easily lead to accidents. The foundation called upon parents not to leave their children out of their sight when they use the entertainment facilities.
4. 耗時八年興建的國立臺中圖書館新館，即將於6月3號隆重開幕，昨天(15)舉行試營運記者會，教育部社教司長羅清水期待新館多元化的呈現，不僅服務在地民眾，也擴大到全國民眾，發揮新館應有的功能。
National Taichung Library which takes eight years to be completed will be formally inaugurated on June 3rd. The news conference for trial operation was held yesterday. The department of social education director 羅清水 expected to see the appearance of the new library which will expand the service to the nationals.
5. 第一屆「全民財經檢定」春季會考成績揭曉，滿分是800分，這次考生平均成績是594.4分，有一人獲得滿分，通過率73.4%，顯示參與這次會考大部分考生的財經力都在水準之上，而且年齡愈高的族群通過率也愈高。下次「全民財經檢定」秋季會考預計11月舉行，將在北、中、南三地設置考場。
The result for the first General Economic and Financial Test (GEFT) in spring is revealed. The full marks are eight hundred points. The score in average of the test takers reaches five hundred ninety-four point four, and one of them gets perfect score which leads the passing rate to seventy-three point four percent. The number shows that the examinees’ finance and economics competence is above the standard and it is increased when the age goes up. The next examination will take place in northern, central and southern areas in November.
6. 根據一份抽樣調查，將近半數的美國幼稚園到8年級教師，使用電子遊戲來輔助教學，其中，小學教師使用頻率又比中學教師更高，小學教師(幼稚園到5年級)約有57%使用，中學教師則有38%的比率。這項報告顯示，借由電子遊戲已經漸成普遍、而且優點多的學習方式。研究所指的電子遊戲，包括可在桌上型電腦、手提電腦、平板電腦、電子遊戲機、手機等器具上使用的互動及模擬數位活動。
According to an investigation, around a half of the teachers teaching from kindergartens to the 8th grade in America use electronic games for assisting their teaching. Among the teachers, those in elementary schools use the games the most. About fifty-seven percent of the teachers teaching from kindergarten to the 5th grade use them, and thirty-eight percent of the junior high school teachers use them. The popularity and multi-leaning ways make the games to be a part of teaching. The research indicates that the so-called electronic games include the interactive digital ones provided in desk-top computer, laptop, Tablet PC, handheld game player and cell phone.
